About the Charity

Sparkle - The National Transgender Charity is a 20 year old, voluntary-led registered UK charity. Our reach extends to people who identify as transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming, their partners, families, friends, and wider society which they are part of.
Sparkle is run by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers, over 85% of which identify as trans, non-binary or gender variant. In 2024, our volunteer hours amounted to a whopping 13,059!.
The Sparkle Weekend - a one-of-a-kind celebration of the magic of gender diversity and the joyof being trans! It is key in spreading the love by boosting trans visibility and spreading joy in the community.

Ongoing Goals for
Our 20th Anniversary Year
Our goals for 2025
Ensure a successful, well-attended and inclusive Sparkle Weekend, for our 20 Year Anniversary celebration. Strengthen existing partnerships and form new ones to support with this momentous occasion. Remain visible and promote allyship.
Continue growing our Sanctuary: a safe space for the trans and gender diverse community to connect, learn new skills, and get support. Offer a range of workshops and activities, and improve sessions based on community feedback.
Increase our sustainability as a fully voluntary-led organisation, for the future of our Charity and the community it serves. We aim to do this through increasing sponsors and partnerships to increase funding.

Our Mission
Creating a More Inclusive Society
We will lead the way with trans inclusion.
Promoting a positive public image, awareness, and acceptance of the trans community in the UK and beyond.
We hope to build confidence and resilience, to develop understanding and cohesion in society, and to challenge the stigma associated with being trans.
