Volunteer with Us
Sparkle is run by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers, over 85% of which identify as trans, non-binary or gender variant. We have no paid staff or sessional workers.
Our core team consists of 5 Trustees and 15 Key Volunteers who support the Charity all year round. We then welcome an additional 125+ volunteers over the Sparkle Weekend, from Thursday to Monday.
In 2024, our volunteering amounted to a whopping 13,059 hours! This is a 133% increase from 2023.
Stage Manager
(Paid Position)
As a Festival Stage Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in managing artists and ensuring the seamless operation of our production team. Your responsibilities include coordinating performance schedules, providing artist support and troubleshooting any issues that arise on stage. Join us in bringing the magic of live performances to life!
Children's Entertainer
(Paid Position)
We are seeking a vibrant and engaging Children'stainer for our Sparkle Weekend event! The ideal candidate will have experience in creating fun atmosphere through music, dancing, and activities. You will be responsible for leading, ensuring all children are engaged and entertained throughout the weekend. Maintaining a fantastic family friendly environment all weekend!
Social Media Assistant
(Voluntary Position)
As a Volunteer Social Media Assistant, you'll help enhance our online presence by creating engaging content and managing our social media accounts. You'll interact with our audience collaborate with our team to promote our mission. This role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in social media management while a positive impact.
Legal Advisor
(Voluntary Position)
We are seeking legal professionals who are committed to promoting the rights of transgender individuals. If you have legal expertise and a desire to make a difference, we encourage you to apply to join our team. Wether its contracts and licensing or employment and corporate engagement we would love to have some support.
Youth Work Assistant

The Youth Activities Assistant will support program leaders in organizing and facilitating engaging activities for youth. Responsibilities include assisting with event planning, supervising participants, and ensuring a safe and positive environment. The ideal candidate will a passion for working with young people and strong communication skills.
Marketting Assistant
(Voluntary Position)
Join our team as a Marketing Assistant the Sparkle Weekend Festival! You'll support marketing initiatives, assist in promoting the festival through various channels, and help coordinate events to ensure a vibrant experience for attendees Your creativity and passion for lgbtq+ life and music will play a key role attracting visitors and enhancing our brand presence.
General Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers for the Sparkle Weekend 2025 - our big 20th Anniversary! To bring the Sparkle Weekend to life, we rely on people power!

We need volunteers from Thursday 26th - Monday 30th June.
There are lots of different roles you can take on: setting up, fundraising, welcoming visitors, social media, supporting with specific zones, litter picking, accessibility support, and site maintenance! No prior experience is necessary, just an open mind and a positive attitude.
